Abstract
Preservation of ‘Mother Nature’ is not a choice but a necessity. Development and Protection of environment needs to go hand in hand, otherwise the day is not far when the world will be bereft of natural resources and congenial climate. In this regard, the concept of ‘Environmental Justice’ is highly pertinent, as it focuses on the planetary cataclysm relating to climate change, biodiversity, damage to ecosystem, and pollution, thereby calling for concerted endeavours of the populace across the globe, irrespective of race, colour, nationality, or income, with reference to the development and enforcement of environmental laws, regulations and policies.
To gauge environmental justice, the environmental performance of various countries, broadly on the parameters of Green House Gas Emissions (GHGs), Renewable Energies and Climate has been explored through two vital indexes, i.e., Environmental Performance Index (EPI) referred from the World Population Review and CCPI published in Climate Change Performance Index.
